Practical Questions

For some conditions, online therapy can be just as effective as in-person treatment. There are a number of studies looking at telemedicine for different kinds of disorders and they tend to be amazingly effective

A 2014 study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders found that online treatment was just as effective as face-to-face treatment for depression.
A 2018 study published in the Journal of Psychological Disorders found that online cognitive behavioral therapy is, “effective, acceptable, and practical health care.

All clients who are eligible to Medicare benefits and want to use a Mental Health Care Plan to get a rebate can book a session with Innergrowth.

Clients who are not eligible to Medicare benefits can also book a session with a counsellor, however, they will not be entitled to get any rebate.

The cost of counselling ranges from $175.00 to $220.00

You can pay using any credit or debit card. 

We use Stripe to handle all payments. It’s a convenient, highly secure system, where your sensitive credit card information (e.g. card number, expiry date or CVV code) are safely kept.

It is an approach that differs from other conventional life coaching styles because it will focus on a broader view of a client’s areas of life. Positive Psychology Coaching is perceived as a model that is directive, promotes a therapeutic setting and aims the self-growth of the client.

It is important to indicate that PPC sessions use scales and interventions that are based on scientific psychological research in order to objectively measure your progress.  

While both approaches can be provided by the same therapist, Psychotherapy treats mental health problems through talking therapy and it can be a long-term treatment while developing a deeper insight into clients’ experiences. On the other hand, counselling can be a short-term treatment that mainly focuses on promoting wellbeing and assist people to find solutions to life problems and critical times (e.g. grief and loss). 

Research suggests that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy for certain mental health issues. Additionally, the convenience of online therapy makes it more accessible to the person who needs it.

Your privacy is very important to us. Only your therapist will have access to your information. InnerGrowth will not reveal client information to any external organization unless we have been authorized by you through signed consent. Our platform meets all regulations of the Australian Privacy Principles.

Questions About Counsellors

Our sessions typically last 50+minutes although at times, prior discussion with your counsellor, it can vary based on your needs and circumstances.

Generally, the appointments can be arranged within a week of your request.

All counsellors at Inner Growth are registered psychologists and mental health accredited social workers with extensive experience in their field

All our therapists are registered with their relevant professional bodies (e.g. Psychology Board of Australia) which means that they have fulfilled all requirements demonstrating their knowledge, training and suitability in their professional field.

Prior to work for InnerGrowth, our therapists have provided their current registration from their professional bodies and satisfied the necessary standards to prove their suitability as a therapist.
